EastEnders is set for another huge week next week, with a drug storyline involving 15-year-old Avani Nandra-Hart and her pals Lily and Amy.
In recent episodes, Avani has been seen getting closer to friend Lily, as she helps her as she grieves her late father, Martin Fowler. Amid this, Avani suggests that she, Lily and Amy skip school for an “adventure day,” but things don’t quite go to plan.
The trio bump into familiar face, Marvin who was selling vapes to Avani last year – however this time, he’s offering them drugs. Although Avani refuses, it doesn’t mean she’s in the clear as soon after, the police arrive and realise the girls are skipping schools.
Not only that, they spot a bag of pills that Marvin has dropped by Avani’s feet. As all three are taken to the station, neither Priya or Ravi are picking up the phone.
The teen is then left horrified when officers say they need to strip search her as they believe they have even more drugs concealed. As she’s strip searched by two female officers as she refuses the offer of an appropriate adult in the room. Suki arrives and is horrified to hear what has happened.
Later in the week, when Avani is seen making her way to the playground to drink a bottle of vodka. Priya and Ravi are left horrified when they found out their daughter has gone AWOL and things go from bad to worse when they find her passed out in the playground.
Will Avani be ok?
Upon hearing the spoilers, fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to speculate on what they think will happen next. “I wonder if EE will remember Eve has an actual law degree next week and therefore might be of some use in this storyline about Avani?” questioned one.
“Also she might be of some use to the Slater kids now Stacey’s legged it esp if Lily is caught up by this too? #EastEnders.”
It’s been a tough few months for Avani, who lost her evil grandad Nish Panesar during New Years. In an attempt to poison and kill both Eve and Suki during their wedding day, it was in fact Nish who lost his life after Ravi was seen pushing him off the balcony in front of horrified wedding guests.
Elsewhere next week, Phil is back home after spending the past few weeks in a mental health unit following his psychosis and his suicide attempt. He’s glad to be home but decides to keep his whereabouts from his friends and neighbours.
It comes after Steve McFadden was praised for his acting in Thursday night’s highly emotional episode, which showcased his month in the Mental Health Unit.
