Inter Miami CF Signs MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Dayne St. Clair

Major League Soccer titleholder Inter Miami CF has officially inked a deal with Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair for the upcoming season. The agreement, disclosed on Sunday, also includes an option for the 2027 sprint season ahead of MLS transitioning to a summer-to-spring schedule.

St. Clair, who clinched the MLS goalkeeper of the year award last season with Minnesota United, topped the league with a remarkable 77.93% save rate. He also achieved personal bests in saves (113) and shutouts (10) during the season.

The 28-year-old hailing from Pickering, Ontario bid farewell to Minnesota fans in December following the expiration of his contract, amid widespread speculations linking him to Miami. Last season, Argentina’s Oscar Ustari featured in 25 regular-season matches for Miami, while American Rocco Rios Novo started the remaining nine games.

Having been drafted by Minnesota in 2019 from the University of Maryland as the seventh overall pick, the six-foot-three, 193-pound goalkeeper has earned 18 caps for the Canadian national team.
