Kansas City NFL Team Addresses Domestic Violence Allegations

Kansas City’s NFL franchise acknowledged domestic violence accusations shared on social media by a former partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice in a recent statement. The team confirmed they were in contact with the NFL regarding the matter but refrained from mentioning Rice by name, opting to provide no further comments at the moment.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who did not directly identify Rice, posted images on Instagram suggesting signs of physical abuse, mentioning that the individual in question is the father of her children. Jones shares two children with Rice, who was drafted by Kansas City in the second round of the 2023 draft. Despite Jones’ claims, no police reports were accessible in Overland Park, Kansas, where the alleged abuse took place.

Rice’s absence from the initial games of the season was due to an NFL suspension following his involvement in a crash on a Dallas highway during the 2024 offseason, resulting in multiple injuries. He received a 30-day jail sentence and five years of probation after pleading guilty to third-degree felony charges related to the incident. Rice’s performance for Kansas City included 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns, although the team’s overall record was 6-11, leading to their first playoff miss in ten years.
