The Canadian team, now 2-0 in the preliminary round after a previous 9-0 win against Switzerland, is set to face undefeated Sweden in a Group A match at the Sport and Wellness Centre in Membertou, N.S. Canada and Sweden currently lead Group A with flawless 2-0 records, while Switzerland and Hungary both hold 0-2 records.
Megan Mossey contributed two goals and two assists in Canada’s impressive performance, outshooting Hungary 74-11. The Canadian team led 4-0 after the first period and extended their lead to 11-0 going into the third period. Additional goals were scored by Caileigh, Alida Korte, Sofia Ismael, Rachel Piggott, Madison Levesque, and Kendall Doiron. Anais Leprohon, Aurora Matt, and Ismael each provided three assists, with seventeen Canadian players making their mark on the scoreboard.
