“Taylor Swift Reigns as Top Spotify Artist; Bad Bunny Close Second”

Taylor Swift has emerged as the top artist of all time on Spotify’s inaugural list of most streamed artists. Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny closely follows her. The rivalry between the two has been ongoing, with Swift holding the top spot in previous years, only to be dethroned by Bad Bunny in 2025.

Following Swift and Bad Bunny, Drake ranks as the third most streamed artist on Spotify, trailed by The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD.

Spotify, when questioned by The Associated Press, did not disclose its data collection methods. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Spotify also released lists of most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks.

Streaming dominates the music industry’s revenue, constituting 82% in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Spotify, founded in April 2006 and headquartered in Sweden, holds a significant market share, boasting 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across 184 markets.

Among Spotify’s most streamed albums are Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Deluxe),” Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR,” and others. The platform’s most streamed songs include hits like The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” and The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather.”
