“E. coli Alert: No Name Frozen Beef Burgers Recalled”

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is issuing a recall for a batch of No Name frozen beef burgers over concerns of E. coli contamination. The affected burgers, packaged in 1.36 kg boxes with a best before date of May 5, 2026, were distributed nationwide.

Consumers are urged to discard the affected product or return it to the place of purchase and refrain from cooking or consuming the burgers. Food items tainted with E. coli O157:H7 may not exhibit visible signs of spoilage but can still pose health risks.

Symptoms of E. coli contamination may manifest as nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and watery to bloody diarrhea, with severe cases potentially leading to stroke or kidney issues. While no illness cases have been reported in connection with the recall, the CFIA continues its investigation and warns of possible additional product recalls.
