“Minneapolis Protests Escalate After Deadly ICE Shooting”

Massive demonstrations against ICE in Minneapolis escalated over the weekend following the second fatal shooting involving federal law enforcement in the city this month. Border patrol agents fatally shot Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, on Saturday.

Today, our discussion focuses on Stephen Miller, the deputy chief of staff for policy under Donald Trump, and how the recent deadly ICE incident in Minnesota is just one of the many controversial policies he has spearheaded. In Trump’s current administration, Miller is taking a prominent role in shaping and enforcing key policies, including rigid immigration measures, mass deportations, targeting perceived adversaries, and adopting a more assertive foreign policy stance.

Joining us for this conversation is Michael Scherer, a staff writer at The Atlantic, specializing in American politics and the influential figures within. He recently co-authored a profile titled “The Wrath of Stephen Miller.”

It’s worth noting that our discussion with Michael took place before the recent shooting and its aftermath in Minneapolis.
