Canadian Screen Awards week has begun with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners at the first of six ceremonies in Toronto. The event revealed 16 winners across various categories.
Josette Jorge won the Best Supporting Performer award for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” Will Arnett was recognized for Best Voice Performance in “Super Team Canada.” Other winners included “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures” for Best Writing in the pre-school category, “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” for Best Original Music in animation, and “Old Enough! – Where’s The Ginger, Please?” for Best Picture Editing in the children’s or youth genre.
Additionally, awards were presented for Best Direction and Best Writing in both children’s or youth and animation categories. Notable winners included “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” for Best Writing and Best Direction in animation.
Popular shows like “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” and “Odd Squad” received accolades, with the latter winning for Best Lead Performer, Children’s or Youth, and Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program or Series.
“Super Team Canada” also shined, winning Best Animated Program or Series and Best Voice Performance for Will Arnett. The event was a celebration of excellence in Canadian children’s television programming.
