“SeatGeek Canada Faces New Fines in Ticket Resale Probe”

SeatGeek Canada has been hit with two additional fines by the Ontario government for allegedly violating a recent law that limits the reselling of event tickets above face value. The fines, totaling $22,500, were issued earlier this month, according to the province’s consumer protection website.

One of the fines, amounting to $15,000, was imposed for allegedly offering a ticket for sale or facilitating its sale at a price exceeding the resale limit. The second fine, totaling $7,500, was for purportedly failing to disclose the full price of a ticket when purchased from an original seller.

Neither the province nor SeatGeek Canada has provided immediate responses to inquiries regarding the specific events linked to the fines or whether the company intends to contest the penalties. In August, the province had already fined SeatGeek Canada $25,000 for comparable violations.
