Authorities in Arizona are urging residents living near Nancy Guthrie’s residence to provide any surveillance camera footage capturing suspicious vehicles or individuals they may have observed in the month leading up to her disappearance. The call for assistance covers a three-kilometre radius around the neighborhoods close to where the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie went missing 12 days ago, as confirmed by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Residents are requested to share video footage of any activities that seemed unusual or relevant to the ongoing investigation since January. Both federal and local law enforcement officials have been conducting thorough searches in Tucson neighborhoods surrounding 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie’s home. They are also exploring potential leads around her other daughter’s nearby residence, which she had visited shortly before vanishing.
Multiple pieces of evidence, including a pair of gloves, have been recovered and are currently under analysis, as announced by the sheriff’s department. Moreover, authorities recently set up a tent at Nancy Guthrie’s entryway, where traces of her blood were found in the initial stages of the investigation. A doorbell camera had captured images of a masked individual on the night she disappeared, prompting the FBI to release updated descriptors of the suspect, now identified as a suspect by the agency. The FBI disclosed details of the suspect, describing him as a male with an average build, standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches. The agency also shared images of a black 25-litre “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack worn by the suspect.
In a bid to enhance public engagement, the FBI raised the reward to $100,000 US for any information that could aid in resolving Guthrie’s disappearance. Notably, FBI Phoenix emphasized the importance of public assistance in providing crucial leads, following thousands of tips received since Guthrie went missing.
