Chloe Fineman, a cast member of the popular show “Saturday Night Live,” has revealed that she will be leaving the show after completing seven seasons. This announcement was made on her Instagram account just before the upcoming 52nd season set to premiere this autumn.
Fineman’s departure comes after a significant shakeup during the 50th season in 2025, where multiple comedians, including Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, Ego Nwodim, and Emil Wakim, left the show. They were subsequently replaced for the 51st season by new talents such as Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall from “Please Don’t Destroy,” and Canadian artist Veronika Slowikowska.
The 51st season had been relatively stable in terms of cast changes until Fineman’s announcement. Bowen Yang left the show midway through the season in December 2025. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Fineman expressed her mixed feelings about departing from “SNL,” acknowledging the show as her second home and the people there as her family.
Joining the show in 2019, Fineman, along with Bowen Yang and Shane Gillis (who exited shortly after being hired), brought a fresh energy to the cast. Over the years, the show has witnessed a shift towards retaining long-serving cast members. Notably, Kenan Thompson holds the record for the longest tenure with 23 seasons, followed by Colin Jost with 13, Michael Che with 12, Mikey Day with 10, and Andrew Dismukes with six seasons.
With Fineman’s departure, she becomes the longest-serving female cast member after the exits of Gardner and Nwodim. Creator Lorne Michaels had previously hinted at impending changes following the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Several departing cast members hinted that their exits may not have been entirely their decision. Walker, Wakim, and Longfellow expressed mixed emotions about leaving the show, comparing the transient nature of entertainment careers to fleeting relationships.
During her time on “SNL,” Fineman gained recognition for her spot-on impressions of various personalities, including Melania Trump, Timothée Chalamet, Britney Spears, and Drew Barrymore, along with her viral social media videos mimicking the Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun.
Besides her comedic talents, Fineman has also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as “White Noise” and “Megalopolis” alongside Adam Driver, as well as “Despicable Me 4” and “Freakier Friday.” She is set to star in upcoming projects like “Love Language” with Chloë Grace Moretz and “The Dink” alongside Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris.
