Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege that she engaged in fraudulent activities by not fulfilling her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
Investors put in approximately $1.2 million USD ($1.67 million) into Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the goal of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as per a lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
The investors claim they were assured that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they argue that Gomez and other company executives failed to meet their commitments, which included the creation of a mobile application.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly signed a contract committing to her role but did not honor it. The plaintiffs assert that the company did not have a viable business plan and failed to fulfill even basic obligations, such as paying employees and vendors on time.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit contends that the investors were unaware of the company’s difficulties until they were disclosed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
