“Justin Bieber Leads Canadian Grammy Nominations”

Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, Drake, and other Canadian artists have been nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Bieber received four nominations for his unexpected return album “Swag,” including Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year. This marks Bieber’s fifth nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album, tying him with Justin Timberlake for the most nominations in that category by a male artist. Additionally, his tracks “Daisies” and “Yukon” are up for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best R&B Performance, respectively.

Cirkut, a producer from Halifax and previous Grammy winner, leads the Canadian nominees with seven nominations. His nods include Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, for contributions to Lady Gaga’s album “Mayhem,” Ed Sheeran’s “Play,” and more. Cirkut is also in the running for Record of the Year for Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and Bruno Mars and Rosé’s “Apt,” Album of the Year for “Mayhem,” and Best Dance Pop Recording for “Abracadabra.”

Calgary pop sensation Tate McRae earned her first Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording with her song “Just Keep Watching” from the “F1” soundtrack. Vancouver’s Tobias Jesso Jr., a previous Grammy winner for Songwriter of the Year in 2023, received a nomination in the same category this year for his work on various tracks, including “Swag” and Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need.”

Furthermore, audio engineer and mixer Serban Ghenea, a recipient of 23 Grammy Awards, scored six nominations, including Record of the Year for his work on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.” Meanwhile, Drake made a comeback at the Grammys with a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance alongside PartyNextDoor for their song “Somebody Loves Me.” On the other hand, The Weeknd did not receive any nominations despite ending his Grammy boycott, with his recent album “Hurry Up Tomorrow” falling within the eligibility period.

The list of Canadian nominees includes Justin Bieber for Album of the Year with “Swag,” Lady Gaga for “Mayhem,” Sabrina Carpenter for “Man’s Best Friend,” and more. Notable nominations also went to Cirkut, Tate McRae, Spiritbox, and other talented Canadian artists across various categories.
