French freestyle skier Tess Ledeux, an Olympic big air medallist, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Milano Cortina Winter Games due to lingering effects from a concussion she sustained last March during a World Cup event. Ledeux, who secured a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2018, expressed that despite initially hoping for a quick recovery, she continues to experience symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and dizziness.
In a recent social media post, the former world champion shared that, after consulting with medical professionals, she has made the difficult choice to prioritize her health and take a break from competing for the entire season. Ledeux acknowledged the challenges of facing both physical and mental injuries, emphasizing the importance of putting her well-being above her athletic pursuits.
Although disappointed to miss out on what would have been her third Olympic appearance, the 24-year-old remains optimistic about her future in the sport, setting her sights on the 2030 Olympics in France. Ledeux expressed gratitude for the support she has received and affirmed her determination to overcome the current setback.
