Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks were spotted getting chummy with a couple of brunettes at Marvin Humes ‘ 40th birthday bash, but it seems love isn’t quite in the air just yet. However, it has since emerged that the two women are not love interests for the close friends.
It comes after Pete split from his Love Island star ex Maura Higgins and Sam’s recent split from Zara McDermott – who is said to be dating One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. Instead, the “mystery women” are believed to be part of JLS’ management team and their “cosy” appearance was nothing more than banter between friends.
An insider spilled to The Sun: “Sam and Pete are both single now and will be each others’ wingmen. And Sam is definitely ready to get back on the horse and date again after a miserable few weeks now Zara is moving on.”
Dapper Sam, 32, seemed to have bounced back from his December heartache. The Made In Chelsea chap cut a dashing figure in a blue suit and matching shirt as he joined in celebrating Marvin’s milestone. He was all smiles, engaging with two women in black dresses outside the swanky Savoy Hotel in London.
Strictly’s Pete, 37, was full of life, while Sam was seen gently touching a woman’s arm. Later, Sam was caught in a cuddle with a lady in pink inside the hotel, before they stepped out for a smoke. Meanwhile, Pete oozed cool in an all-black ensemble.
Later, Sam shared a selfie with Marvin and captioned it: “Love you brother. “
On his special night, the Beat Again singer was thoroughly spoiled, with his wife Rochelle and their children joining him on stage to sing happy birthday as he blew out the candles on his cake. Close friend and pop star Jessie J then took the mic to lead a rendition of the happy birthday song.
Rochelle’s sister Sophie Piper, who had managed to return from her holiday despite the travel chaos, looked stunning in a shimmering magenta dress. She was accompanied by her Love Island All Stars boyfriend Josh Ritchie and her siblings.
Sam’s cheerful appearance came after he received support from friends, including loyal pal Pete, following his split from Love Island star Zara. It was revealed earlier in the week that Zara, 28, is moving on with her life and has started dating One Direction superstar Louis, 33.
After five years together, Zara and Sam split, and she was spotted on a cozy date with Louis at a hotel in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The E4 reality TV star was reportedly “blindsided” by Zara’s decision to move on. According to a source: “Louis whisked Zara away for a break in Suffolk and he absolutely charmed her. It’s clear he thinks she’s drop-dead gorgeous too. For now they’re taking things slowly and enjoying each other’s company to see where it takes them”.
