“Toronto Tempo Adds Carl and Lankton as Assistant Coaches”

Ciara Carl and Brian Lankton have been appointed as assistant coaches for the Toronto Tempo, as announced by the WNBA team on Thursday. With extensive experience spanning over a decade in the NBA, G-League, WNBA, and NCAA, Carl and Lankton will be reporting to Tempo head coach Sandy Brondello.

Their roles will encompass various aspects of team preparation and performance, including player development, advanced scouting, and on-court strategy, as stated by the team. Carl transitions to the Tempo from the Phoenix Mercury, where she held roles as an assistant coach and head video coordinator since 2023.

Lankton, on the other hand, most recently fulfilled the positions of head video coordinator and player development coach for the New York Liberty from 2023 to 2025, notably during the team’s 2024 WNBA championship victory. Toronto is gearing up for its debut WNBA season scheduled for this summer.
