“Toronto Tempo Ready to Tip-Off Inaugural WNBA Season”

The Toronto Tempo are gearing up for their inaugural season in the 2026 Women’s National Basketball League, with the season kick-off set for May 8. Their first game will be against the Washington Mystics at Coca-Cola Coliseum, marking the beginning of a 44-game schedule announced recently.

Negotiations are ongoing between the WNBA players and the league regarding a new collective bargaining agreement. If an agreement is reached, the Tempo will predominantly play their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum. However, they will also host three games at Scotiabank Arena, the home venue for the NHL’s Maple Leafs and NBA’s Raptors.

Notable matchups at Scotiabank Arena include the Phoenix Mercury on June 27, the Minnesota Lynx on July 30, and the Indiana Fever led by Caitlin Clark on August 18. In addition to their Toronto games, the Tempo will also play at the Bell Centre in Montreal, facing Dallas on July 10 and New York on July 12. They will travel to Rogers Arena in Vancouver for games against the new expansion team Portland on August 21 and the defending champions Las Vegas on August 23.
