The team revealed this news before their upcoming match against Toronto. Butler was injured after a collision with the Heat’s Davion Mitchell following a pass in the paint on Monday night. Despite the setback, Butler remained positive, asking for free throws after the incident, which reassured coach Steve Kerr about his spirits.
Following an MRI, it was confirmed that Butler would miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to the ACL tear. The Warriors, facing decisions with the trade deadline approaching, now have to navigate the season without Butler.
Butler’s knee buckled upon landing, prompting visible discomfort. Teammates Gary Payton II and Buddy Hield assisted him off the court. Stephen Curry praised Butler’s resilience, noting his ability to crack jokes even in challenging situations.
