“DNA Match Found in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Case”

The FBI reported the discovery of a glove containing DNA approximately three kilometers from Nancy Guthrie’s residence in Tucson, Arizona. The glove is suspected to match those worn by an unidentified masked individual spotted outside her home on the night she disappeared. The glove was found in a field by the roadside and has been sent for DNA analysis. Preliminary test results were received by the FBI on Saturday, awaiting official confirmation.

Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman and mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing on January 31 from her Arizona home, with blood traces found on the front porch. Despite purported ransom notes sent to media outlets, no payment has been made following two deadlines.

Savannah Guthrie made a plea via Instagram on Sunday night appealing to the abductor or anyone with information on her mother’s whereabouts to come forward. She emphasized the importance of doing the right thing and expressed faith in the inherent goodness of people.

Approximately 16 gloves were discovered near the property, mostly discarded by searchers. The FBI disclosed this information after finding surveillance footage of the masked person outside Guthrie’s home. The suspect, described as a man around 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build, was seen carrying a 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack.

Authorities are concerned for Nancy Guthrie’s well-being due to her daily medical requirements, including a pacemaker and prior heart issues. Initial investigations revealed foreign DNA on her property, unrelated to Guthrie or her close contacts, prompting efforts to identify the source.
