“Fleet conquers Sceptres 2-1 in Lowell showdown”

Alina Müller contributed a goal and an assist, Shay Maloney also found the back of the net, and the Boston Fleet emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over the Toronto Sceptres in Lowell, Massachusetts on Wednesday evening.

Aerin Frankel delivered a stellar performance with 21 saves for Boston (8-0-2-2), leading the PWHL standings with 26 points this season, followed by Montreal and Minnesota tied for second place with 19 points.

In the closing minutes of the game, Emma Maltais scored for Toronto (4-0-3-5), who are now on a four-game losing streak.

The first period saw Boston with 11 shots and the Sceptres with nine, but it remained scoreless until Müller broke the deadlock just 45 seconds into the second period. Müller deflected a shot taken by Haley Winn into the net, marking her second goal of the season.

Maloney extended Boston’s lead to 2-0 with 3:06 remaining by capitalizing on her own rebound.

Raygan Kirk made 18 saves for the Sceptres.
